Introducing the newly elected administrator and musical director for the BMYC

Hi, my name is Judith and I’m very excited to be the new administrator for the British Methodist Youth Choir! I live in Preston; Lancashire and I work as a community midwife in the Morecambe and Lancaster area. I have two daughters, Emily (17) and Sophie (11).

I am an avid singer and have enjoyed singing alto for many years. I am also a member and the administrator of my circuit choir, the Preston Methodist Voices. I have a keen interest in choral music, and I’m looking forward to working with all members, old and new, of BMYC and seeing what exciting times are ahead for us!

Greetings all! My name is Jason and I am honoured to be taking over as the new musical director of the British Methodist Youth Choir. I am so excited to get “stuck in” and I’ve lots of ideas as to how we can move forward and continue with our “mission in song” into the 2020’s and beyond!

I currently live in Preston, Lancashire but have been accepted for ministerial training in the Methodist Church and so I am moving to Birmingham in September with my partner.

I have lots of musical experience having graduated with a music and drama degree from the University of Manchester in 2014 followed by a PGCE in secondary music from the University of Cumbria. I have taught secondary music since 2015 and have worked with children and young people in a variety of musical ways. I am currently the musical director for my circuit choir, the Preston Methodist Voices and I love music of all styles and can’t wait to explore that with the BMYC. I look forward to the future and seeing how together we can continue exploring our “mission in song.” In the meantime, take care and God bless.
