Gilbert Jones

It is with sadness that I pass on the news that Gilbert Jones, one of the previous Administrators of the choir died peacefully on the 1st April 2016.

Gilbert was the choir's administrator from 1993 to 2004 and I know many members of the choir have very fond memories of his time with the choir.  Below is a short message from his daughter Elisabeth:

"I thought you might appreciate knowing that my dad, Gilbert Jones died peacefully on April 1st, having suffered from dementia for over 5 years. His dementia finally reached its last stage and his body was tired. Mum and I were with him and although we are sad not to have him with us any more, we are relieved that he has finally been healed of his dementia and is at peace.

His funeral is to be held at Blackwood Methodist Church, Streetly, B74 3PL on April 28th at 2.30pm followed by cremation at Streetly Crematorium. Friends are welcome at both services and we are inviting donations to the Frailty Assessment Unit at Good Hope Hospital where dad received amazing care during the last few days of his life."

Gilbert, rest in peace and rise in glory.
