2010 BMYC Taster Event

21st May 2010 for the next BMYC taster weekend

In 2010 the BMYC will once again be running a taster weekend to allow young people aged 15 - 27 to try out the choir and see if it is for them. There will be no concert this weekend, though there will be an opportunity to take part in a service to be recorded by the BBC as part of the congregation.

The weekend will follow the approximate pattern of:

  • 21st May - Arrive in London at Hinde Street Methodist Church, present members will collect you from Train/Bus station if required
  • Food & meet the current choir
  • Sat 22nd May - Rehearse in the Morning
  • Afternoon - Picnic in the park followed by an activity in London
  • Evening - Social activities
  • Sun 23rd May - Join Hinde Street Methodist Church for their Pentacost Service which is also been recorded by the BBC

Reasons to come along include:

  • The chance to sing with BMYC on Radio 4’s Sunday Service, which is being broadcast live from Hinde Street Methodist Church on the 23rd May;

  • The opportunity to learn a huge variety of music, sacred and secular, traditional and modern;

  • A range of social activities to get to know current choir members;

  • The possibility of joining the choir for future concert weekends.
